We're an independent shop, not an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and we'll always tell you when that matters: if your Mac is under warranty or AppleCare and the problem is covered, Apple will fix it for free and you should let them. For everything else — out-of-warranty Macs, software problems, upgrades, and data rescue — we're faster to reach and we come to you.
Most Mac complaints are software and storage: a nearly full drive, a login full of background apps, a failed macOS update, or years of migrations piled on each other. We clean that up, reinstall macOS cleanly when it's warranted, and set up Time Machine or a cloud backup so the next problem isn't a crisis.
On the hardware side we replace batteries, chargers, and keyboards where parts are available, upgrade storage on older Macs that still have removable drives, and handle iMac and Mac mini service. For board-level repairs on newer Macs with soldered parts, we'll give you a straight assessment and the options — including when replacing is the smarter money.
Bring us your Mac if…
- it says your startup disk is almost full
- the battery shows “Service Recommended” or the case looks swollen
- it restarts on its own or shows a prohibitory sign at startup
- a macOS update failed halfway
- you spilled on it (shut it down and leave it off)
- you can't get an Apple appointment soon enough

NEW YORK / WHAT WE SEE ON CALLS
What we see on New York Macs.
Hand-me-down MacBooks
Older Macs passed down to kids and parents are often perfectly usable with a new battery and a clean system — and a lot cheaper than new.
Full drives, full iCloud
Photo libraries outgrow 256 GB fast. We move them to iCloud or an external drive and stop the “disk full” spiral.
Busy Apple stores
Same-day appointments at the busiest Manhattan and Brooklyn stores can be hard to get. We'll come to you, or pick it up.

FAQ / MAC REPAIR
Mac repair questions, answered.
Are you an Apple Authorized Service Provider?
No. We're an independent IT and repair service. If your Mac is under warranty or AppleCare and the problem is covered, we'll recommend Apple because the repair will be free there. For out-of-warranty Macs, software problems, upgrades, and data rescue, we can usually help faster.
How much does it cost to fix a MacBook?
Diagnosis and the estimate are free. Software repairs are billed at $79 an hour remotely or $129 an hour on-site, and bench repairs are $149 flat plus parts. Hardware like batteries and keyboards depends on the model, and you get the full price before we order anything.
I spilled water on my MacBook. What should I do?
Shut it down by holding the power button, unplug it, and don't turn it on to check if it works. Don't use rice or a hair dryer. Turn it upside down in a tent shape with the screen open and contact us. Liquid damage gets worse with time and power, so speed matters.
Can you upgrade the storage on my MacBook?
On older models with a removable SSD, yes. Many newer Macs have storage soldered to the board, so it can't be upgraded. In that case we'll set up an external drive or iCloud so you get the space without replacing the Mac.
Why is my Mac so slow?
The usual causes are a nearly full startup disk, too many apps launching at login, a stuck iCloud or Photos sync, an aging battery throttling performance, or a Mac that's simply too old for the current macOS. We check each one and fix the real cause.
Can I get help without an Apple Store appointment?
Yes. Call or text us, and we'll fix it remotely, come to you the same day, or pick the Mac up and return it.

Fix or replace your laptop? An honest 2026 cost guide for New Yorkers
Most slow or aging laptops don't need replacing — they need an SSD, a battery, or a cleanup. Here's how to decide, with real prices, the 50% rule, and the times a new laptop really is the smarter buy.
Spilled water or coffee on your laptop? What to do in the first 60 minutes
A spill doesn't have to kill a laptop — what you do in the next hour decides it. Power off, don't test it, skip the rice, and get it opened and dried. Step by step, for Macs and PCs.
iCloud, OneDrive, and Google Drive are not backups — the 3-2-1 rule in plain English
Cloud sync keeps every copy the same — including the deleted and encrypted ones. Here's why sync isn't a backup, how the 3-2-1 rule works, and the simple setup we use for homes and offices.
