A camera system is only as good as the moment you need it: the angle that catches a face, footage that wasn't overwritten last Tuesday, and an app that loads when you're standing on the sidewalk. We plan around those moments first, then pick the gear.

For storefronts and buildings we usually recommend wired cameras powered over ethernet (PoE) recording to a network video recorder on site, with secure phone access. They don't depend on Wi-Fi or batteries and keep recording when the internet drops. For apartments and smaller homes, quality wireless or doorbell cameras can be the right call. We'll explain the trade-offs in plain English.

We also handle the parts people forget: putting the recorder on a battery backup, keeping cameras on their own network so they can't be used to break into everything else, and setting retention so you keep enough days of footage. Shared spaces get extra care — we'll help you stay on the right side of your landlord, co-op board, and neighbors.

Good time to call if…

  • packages keep disappearing from your stoop or lobby
  • your storefront has blind spots by the door or register
  • your old DVR system shows black screens or can't be viewed remotely
  • you're a landlord who needs lobby and hallway coverage
  • you want to check on a second home or a business after hours

NEW YORK / WHAT WE SEE ON CALLS

Cameras, the New York way.

NYC / 01

Package theft

Lobby and stoop thefts are a daily NYC problem. Doorbell or entry cameras with clear facial angles are the fix that actually deters.

NYC / 02

Shared spaces and boards

Co-ops, condos, and landlords often require approval for cameras in hallways or on facades. We help you plan a setup that gets approved.

NYC / 03

Storefront nights

Roll-down gates and dark streets need cameras with good low-light performance, and a recorder that keeps going when the internet doesn't.

FAQ / SECURITY CAMERA INSTALLATION

Security camera installation questions, answered.

How much does it cost to install security cameras?

Installation is billed at $129 an hour on-site, and cameras and recorders are quoted at cost for your specific space before we buy anything. A small home or storefront system is often done in a single visit. You'll get a flat quote that includes labor and hardware.

Can I put a camera outside my NYC apartment door?

There's no blanket city ban, but most leases, co-op, and condo rules require permission to mount anything in a shared hallway or on the building. Point it at your own door, not into a neighbor's unit, and get approval in writing. We can help you choose a setup that works inside your apartment or that a board is likely to approve.

Wired or wireless cameras?

Wired PoE cameras are more reliable for businesses and buildings: no batteries, no Wi-Fi dropouts, and recording continues if the internet goes down. Wireless and battery cameras are easier to install in rentals and small homes. Many setups use both.

How long is footage stored?

It depends on the number of cameras, the resolution, and the recorder's storage. We size it so you keep the number of days you actually need, commonly two to four weeks for a small business, and can add cloud backup of important cameras.

Can I watch my cameras on my phone?

Yes. We set up secure live view and playback on your phone and on any other phones that need access, and show you how to save and share a clip for police or insurance.

Do you install cameras for landlords and multi-unit buildings?

Yes. We plan lobby, hallway, entrance, and back-of-building coverage, put the recorder somewhere secure, and give the owner or super remote access.
